By default, halftone patterns typically follow one of three generic patterns - dots, straight lines, or concentric circles. I wanted to break this limitation and bring halftones into my own custom patterns. In order to do this I had to develop a technique which later formed the premise of my first public tutorial.
As a fan of optical art, I wanted to see what else was possible in the medium using halftone patterns. In exploring and developing my method for this type of artwork I found a way to create halftones that utilise any custom artwork that has equally spaced linework, and even push them to give the illusion 3-D space.
