Everything I Ever Wanted To Tell My Daughter About Men - Film Poster Design

Starring writer Lorien Haynes, Everything I Ever Wanted to Tell My Daughter About Men provides an unsparing account of domestic violence and sexual abuse through the courageous exploration of its impact on the survivor. Traumatic, yet at times darkly comedic, the film required a poster that echoed its tone without detracting from the seriousness of its message.

The feature film was seamlessly compiled from 23 short films directed by 21 female directors. The main challenge of the poster was to include the substantial cast and list of directors in a coherent and uncluttered manner. The result is a composite of digitally compiled and aged Polaroid images with digitally reproduced Dymo style labels. The poster was adapted into 3 versions. The first, which joined the film at its premier at Austin Film Festival 2021, features the full cast. The remaining two, adapted to suit use at a smaller scale on social media, focused mainly on the men referred to by the film's title. All three posters required considered exploration of how the Polaroids could be best arranged with the title. The project also called for images to support a social media campaign that celebrated all of the short films and the people behind them.
